Brothers David and Matt Dengate head up the engineering department at Queensland’s Tuff Trailers. Over the last 15 years they have relished the challenges and rewards of providing new and innovative designs and patented solutions for Tuff’s valued customers.
David and Matt Dengate were hired by the Managing Director of Tuff Trailers, Denis Di Pasquale, in January 2004 after they decided to step out from study into a long-term profession.
“Denis saw potential in us and gave us the opportunity to join the Tuff team,” the Dengate brothers say.
“Over the last 15 years we’ve had the pleasure of working with new innovative designs and producing new patented solutions for our customers.”
Tuff Trailers specialises in custom trailer designs and solutions that encompass many industry sectors such as mining, agriculture, heavy haulage, road civil and construction. Each trailer is designed specifically to customers’ requirements and constructed with optimum quality and finish.
In terms of developments they have seen in their time in the industry, the Dengates cite a steady evolution in innovative design concepts.
“We have seen a rise in the requirement for custom solutions that can differentiate our customers from their competitors, whether that be a low loader that can extend and widen or a steerable unit that can gain access to difficult sites – being unique is the key.
“Speaking from our perspective in regards to the whole industry, we can clearly see a transformation or trend towards the need for innovation, the evolution of new products and placing safety as paramount in production and operation of our products.”
As for those in the industry they particularly admire, the brothers say they have a lot of respect for their employers Denis and Nicole Di Pasquale.
“From the start they have been incredible to work with. Their standpoint on how a business should function and their high standards of quality and service are something of a rarity these days where customer care can all too often become secondary in importance to profits.
“We are honoured to be part of the Tuff Trailers team and we can see many more happy and successful years ahead of us here.”
